I’m so happy to finally share all the hard work that was poured into this movie and probably my favorite creature in it. I was the lead designer for this and most of the creatures in the movie and Art director at Tau films who build and design most of the creatures and other special effects.
I pinned down the over all shape design for the Giant Hand Monster back in Beijing China in December 2017, working with Director Weiran Li.
Furthermore, It took more than 2 years of development to get to the final look, working with Director Weiran Li and colleagues Walt Jones, John Hughes, and the Entire team at Tau Films, Look Dev with Uday Vel. It was really fun to watch it in action kicking some ass.
Best part for me was that I took this concept from start to finish. My 3d concept art sculpt, was used to realized the final asset you see from the movie, and the look dev turn table bellow. For a designer there is no better feeling. Check out the movie if you have a chance, it’s doing great internationally and it’s an over all fun, entertaining film filled with action and fantasy.
