Ant Man "Bullet Ant"

Ant Man, "Bullet Ant". 2014 I was contracted by Method Studios to finalize the designs for the Ants on the 1st Ant Man film. Method needed to make the ant as real as possible, so they hired me to help the modeling department put them together with concept designs. There was some initial beautiful Key frames of the ants painted by the very talented Antony Fransisco, but method needed more photo-realistic renderings and full anatomy guides to really bring them to life. I remember my supervisors telling me, "We have no clue what ants look like from up close specially the bottom, and that's where we need your help". It was a lot of fun, I had to do tons of research about ants and their anatomy, and I put together very detailed reference guides to help the modeling team make the final assets for the film along with My Hero designs of the Ants. I also did lots of paint over, of assets for quality control and I sculpted a few head designs as well. The final screen models you see on the film
